Physical fitness is generally achieved through correct nutrition, exercise, hygiene and rest. It is considered a measure of the body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist diseases from sedentary lifestyles and to deal with emergency situations.
People who are in good physical shape also tend to enjoy a higher level of mental agility, because physical activity increases the flow of oxygen to your brain and increases the amount of endorphins (feel-good chemicals) in the brain. In summary, the more you help your body, the more you help your mind.
There are two types of physical fitness: skill-related and health-related. The components that make up skill-related fitness are: agility, balance, coordination, speed, reaction time, power. Health-related fitness is made up of cardiovascular fitness, strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition.
The Game in this module trains your coordination, balance and flexibility. Seeing the movements several times helps in accomplishing the postures increasingly well. The physical activities are combined with using your memory-skills. Performance can be raised through self-awareness and control of movements, and can be affected by emotional issues (anxiety, willingness to do the exercises), certain medication or vitamin deficiency, your mental condition (exhaustion, sleep deprivation) and also by certain diseases. By taking part in this Game in group you help not just your physical- and mental-, but also your social well-being.
